Sorry I should have been more specific not only is it in the cellar I also don't currently have IR on my WHS

So if I were to use an X10 remote what would I need on the WHS in terms of hardware/software?

Thanks

Usually they have a USB module that plugs into the PC to be controlled. An example of one such remote can be found here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/WINDOWS-VISTA-MEDI...1|294%3A50
