So, have you tested if it's faster in Leopard or in Tiger?
Have you any tricks for performing better, especially with HD content?
I was thinking about upgrading from 512MB to 1GB of RAM...

I run leopard on my mac mini. Unfortunately due to OpenGL 1.3 only, it's using software rendering. HD would require faster CPU or better graphics... On my PowerBook (same CPU, 1.25 GHz G4), 720p runs fine thanks to the ATI Radeon 9600 (OpenGL 2.0). |

The difference is small so it's not worth moving from 10.5 to 10.4 unless performance is on the edge of usability. What I'm not sure is if upgrading memory whould be of any use...
Performance increments after upgrading memory are noticeable when multitasking, but, I don't know if going from 512Mb to 1GB would be fine, knowing the price that old memory has now...
