Adding to PMIII home menu?

How would I go about adding library info to the home screen?

You know in the bottom right it shows system info and weather when the Settings button or Weather button are highlighted.

I want it to show the media counts ( like "601 Movies" or "77 TV Series" ) when the Movies button or Television button are highlighted.

I asked a simular question a few mounths ago & it cant be done with the skinning options.

I think it can be done with a phython script, but not sure.
