I've got the following two machines.
Sempron64 2600+
1gb DDR
Asus SIS motherboard (not 100% positive which chipset)
Geforce 6200 256mb PCI
and
Via 1.6ghz Nano CPU
2gb DDR2
Via Epia VB8001 motherboard
Geforce 6200 256mb PCI-E
Both boot up just fine with the 8.10 final release, but when I try booting from the CD for the 9.04 final both end up hanginging at "starting hald". The machines become completely unresponsive (Numlock doesn't toggle status on the keyboard and often the sound card emits a loud buzz sound)
Also, I did try both machines with Ubuntu 9.04 and they both work very well. Before anyone asks, I did redownload the XBMC 9.04 final image and reburn it, no good.
Has anyone else encountered this sorta of thing with hald locking the machine?
