Nothing unless we're specifically requested to remove it.

Yes that is very curious indeed, ...I guess that the lawyers who issued the removal request for rtmpdump do not know that Adobe will be releasing the specification of the RTMP protocol to the public anyway making the point of removing it moot.

Don't forget rtmpdump is (or was, at least) distributed with scripts that download hulu and iplayer content. That is most likely the real issue, not the fact that rtmpdump uses a proprietary protocol.

From what I understand the issue was using rtmpe:// to access UK Channel 4 content. The "e" on the end refers to encrypted. A very weak form of encryption apparently - player sha256 hash and uncompressed filesize being used for auth.
