Sorry for the noob question. I am running XBMC 9.04.1 r20654. I have not been using it long but (I think) after the recent update, I started getting a flashing message box in the bottom right of the screen (using the default skin). It's there all the time (during movie playback etc.) and I think it has to do with my wireless keyboard (BTC 9019). Sometimes the message shows "BTC wireless joystick ...etc." and the message goes away but most of the time it just sits there and flashes (and beeps, but I turned that off). The thing is, the keyboard and all it's buttons are working regardless of the message status. I really just want the message box to go away so I can use XBMC. Is that possible or is there another fix?

Debug log:
http://pastebin.com/m2bc5bf67

My specs:
ubuntu 9.04 32bit
kernel 2.6.28-11-generic
Intel 7400e
4 gig ram
Gigabyte GA-E7AUM
On board Geforce 9400

Thanks!

Does it go away if you disconnect the keyboard before starting XBMC and then plug it in? I saw similar with an xbox controller the other day but it wasn't 100% reproducible.

Yeah I have also gotten this but it's very very random for me, and I can't find anything specifically wrong in the code that handles joystick plug / unplug.

I think I got it in r20738. This was reproducible every 5 or so starts for me. After the fix, I did 30 starts without issues before giving up.

Just an update. If the keyboard is not plugged in when I start xbmc, there are no problems. When I then plug the keyboard in, it is always recognized and works fine, so that is a work around for now...

Sorry for the noob question, but does that mean you fixed it in r20738? How do I get my hands on that? I checked the SVN PPA and the latest there is r20725.

You'll have to wait for the SVN PPA to update or compile yourself.
