DVD ISO playback problem

I think it means video queue. My post above yours states when this issue was fixed. What version are you running? If your queue is running out then you are having a network problem. Although the buffer is small for isos your network needs to keep up at this point. You running wireless? Also mentioned in the thread...no you cannot change the buffer sizes.

Hi,

i'm running latest svn build (installed by xbmc updater).
vq allway's doesn't run below 15%
Normally it runs between 30% and 60%
Is that ok ?

PC is connected to the lan by a cable.

Best Regards

I'm seeing the same thing, starting with at least Babylon 9.04.1-repack2.

Current version ikons XBMCSetup-Rev21773

*A subtle stuttering every 30 seconds or so
*Happens when playing a DVD ripped to local hard drive as .iso or video_ts folder
*Seems to occur on NTSC DVD's but not PAL (Huh)
*OSD says Frame rate doesn't change and reports no dropped frames.

Yeah Im not sure guys. I spent a while tracking down the exact SVN that mine was skipping. I narrowed it down to 2 pre-compiled version (from ikons and kricer). They were 10 subversions apart. So starting in the middle, I just started compiled version between them until I found the exact change made that caused it. Then the devs helped out from there. It is a bit of work. But its really nothing when comparing how much work the devs do.

You guys might also want to start with the basics of posting a log and the usual of troubleshooting.

Any news about the iso image stuttering problem's ?

I have installed the newest SVN through the updater.

ISO stuttering is still present.
I have no drop's and vq is between 15% and 80% (this value differs from movie to movie).

I'll try to use another skin now. (At the moment i use media stream skin)

Any hint's ?

Best Regards

Did it ever not stutter? With any of the older versions?

Just speaking for myself, not revoman...

Pre Babylon did NOT stutter for me. Last good one I used with no stutter was XBMCSetup-Rev17578-jester.exe

Everything post Babylon repack has stuttered.

Odd thing is, this only happens on NTSC ISO's, not PAL ones.

Bizarre, no??

I don't try that.

Every version that i have installed has the stutter problem with pal iso's.
I've only PAL iso's.

I have started with xbmc in late June this year.

My hardware:

ACER REVO ION CHIPSET
1GB RAM
160GB HDD
WINDOWS XP
100 MBIT CABLE-CONNECTION
NAS: SYNOLOGY 209+

I've tried everything:
Installed latest nvidia drivers, chipset drivers ...

VQ is always between 15% AND 99% (differs from iso to iso)
AQ is always 99%

CPU LOAD MAX = 20%
Some frame drops (0-20) per movie ...
Network transfer rates are absolutely normal.

Currently used screen resolution is 1280 x 720 @ 50Hz.
Sometimes movies are stuttering, not all the time ...

Currently used Skin : AEON STARK
Problem appears with every skin, so i don't think about a skin issue.

I hope now for a stutter free version or some good tips to kill this stuttering problem.

Thx in advance

Hi folks,

now it seem's to be much better Nod

I've tested a while and i have activated:

Sync to Display
AV Sync = Audio Clock

Today i've tested with 1 movie (2 hours long)
There were only 2 or 3 minimal stutters during the movie.
This stuttering was much lower than a second. I thin it was 0,2 - 0,4 sec's.

What's the best settings for AV Sync ?

Any hint's ?

Thx in advance

There really isnt a best. But a personal preference. Or sometimes your system wont handle certain ways as well as others. Personally I use Audio Sync because I use pass thru and dont want it touched. Read here for what each ones does.
