I did that, rebooted, installed add-on. Still didn't work. Is there a way to tell what version i have, i used the link from the post above and just copied into place using ssh via cyberduck.

did you change the owner to mobile?
if not
Code:
chown mobile "path/to/file"
you might need root priveliges to do that.
that's all i could find on the fly (not an atv user)

Problem Solved!

Did some digging around in earlier posts and found this link: http://supercloudtv.com/librtmp.html

replaced my librtmp with the one downloaded from this site and it worked.

Can replacing the librtmp have an adverse effect on other video playback ?

librtmp is only used for playing rtmp links. It does not affect anything else.
