Hi!

Since most of us have XMBC loaded on their HTPC machines, wouldn't it be cool to fire up stepmania using just the remote and start stepping instantly from XMBC? My wife and our friends would certainly love it, since USB dance pads are sooo cheap right now. I assume that most of us could really use some exercise as well

I can help in writing/testing such plugin.

Stepmania is available for both linux and windows.

I want this to work too on my HTPC. I'm using ubuntu and have no clue how to do it or where to start, something with irexec? And use a specific button to start it?

I'd suggest using an existing launcher, like Advanced Launcher. Or Steam and adding the game as an external game to your Steam. o.o
