Hey guys.
I have everything working to this point except Wake-On-USB. I have read a lot of threads and was able to get it to work once by enabling USB0 in /proc/acpi/wakeup. However, if I plugged in a USB hard drive also, the system would wake itself immediately.
Is there anyhting in need to do with that jumper on teh MB or make any BIOS changes regarding wake-on-usb? FYI...I am suing the standard Microsoft MCE remote.
TIA!

How much ram is typical for a zotac install? 1gb? 2gb? 4gb? I've been scouring the forums and see some mention of 2 and 4gb. I'm guessing 1 is not enough?

I recommend at least 2GB ram, if you have less than 2 GB, the graphic card can only use 256 MB of ram.

Just thought I'd say hi and introduce myself. I picked up an Ionitx-A board, 4GB RAM, an M350 case, and a couple of memory keys for a Christmas project (after looking at a WDTV Live).
I wired the fan for 7v (the reports I read were right -- 12V is just too noisy!) and went for a HDD diskless install (USB keys only). I moved the power plug to the hole in the case instead of using the rear plate just to have some extra room. I'm using the gigE wired interface. Put 9.11RC1 Live on a USB stick and installed onto another USB stick from there. Never used XBMC or linux before (but had used unix many years ago). Turned out to be pretty painless (I did have to go in and manually change my IP address as I had picked a wrong one initially, but that was basically it; fortunately "vi" hasn't changed all these years). Everything was very intuitive and the forums were really helpful. Just a very basic media player right now, but am very happy with it. Much better than burning everything to RW disks to play on a DVD player. Next to do is find some other skins, get an IR receiver hooked up (currently using a BT mouse but would prefer to use my Harmony remote), and set up a few apps (like for watching youtube videos or other internet streams). |

I'm currently using the Zotac 330 ION and it works great.
2gb Ram 80gb hd (soon to be a 64gb ssd) - I've got an HP media server I use for my videos. HP IR receiver I got on ebay works perfectly with my Logitech 1100 remote. Everything works great. I would recommend it to anyone who needs a cheap htpc. It only cost me about $300 to build. |

I almost went with 4gb of ram, but I'm only running W7 - 32bit on this guy.
Also at the time, I think I got the 2gb ram on sale at newegg for like 1/3 price of the 4gb with free shipping. So it was a no brainer.

You did a Live->standalone install with two usb keys? I was considering if I could do this, was it a straight forward or did you follow some guides? |

I used unetbootin to make one key and then plugged it and a blank key in and did the install to the blank one. It was straight forward (no guides, no mods, etc., and best of all, no HDDs). |

I have an MCE receiver plugged in front and have the USB JP3 jumper set to 5v; It doesn't wake up with remote or mouse. I tried waking it up with mouse when JP3 was set to default 5Vdual also. |
