I keep getting an error message that passive mode it is not activated, I can FTP to any other XBOX in the network, and I can see the folder inside the XBOX and its contents, but I cant place anything inside the folders

despite all the details of your setup and software used, i cant see what is causing your problem

Sounds like you are using an old verison of xbmc or another dash.. Passive mode is a setting in the FTP client... turn it off...
