Hey guys! Awesome site! And I'm loving the xbmc.
I just got my softmodded xbox a few days ago. Read the online manual on setting up the windows file sharing and haven't been able to get that to work. I ended up setting up FTP with the ftp software you download.
I set up windows sharing for the folders I wanted, but they wouldn't show up. Quadruple checked the windows firewall was off, and reset the computer and the xbox several times. I bought a brand new crossover cable to make sure it was working, and it still wouldn't work.
Then I tried to setup ftp with the crossover cable, and it didnt' work. Then I ran a regular ethernet cable to the router for the xbox and the computer, and that works for ftp. I haven't tried to Windows share with the network.
I'm going to try tomo.
I was hoping I could stream my external hard drive connected to the computer with usb, then stream to the xbox.
Any advice for me is appreciated. Also reading material suggestions or links on that info.

If you're connecting to a router then you don't use a crossover cable just a regular network cable.
Only use a crossover if you're connecting directly to a computer. For troubleshooting and bug reporting please make sure you Read Me First |
