Web Server and XMOTE failure
#1
I use the iPhone app XMOTE at times with XBMC with the web server enabled. This continues to work fine with the current stable release R20621. The later SVNs, on the other hand cause XBMC to hang requiring a reboot of the AppleTV.

AppleTV 2.3.1
SVN 21046
Manual Install via http://www.sshcs.com/xbmc/?mode=BO

XBMC log @ http://www.pastebin.ca/1459490
CrashReporter Log @ http://www.pastebin.ca/1459492

Let me know if you would like me to post in Trac or if there is something I am doing incorrectly.
AppleTV 3.0.2, iMac 10.6.2, Launcher 3.2.4, (AppleTV Installed with Launcher), SVN: XBMC 9.11 (R26018).

Hi Boseman,

thanks for the detailed report!
Boseman Wrote:CrashReporter Log @ http://www.pastebin.ca/1459492
While I can't provide help for your original problem, the crashreport is from XBMCHelper. It should be deleted after installing XBMC on the ATV. You can either do that manually, or use Launcher's install script for install from the .dmg. Notes on this are posted in this forum.

cheers,
mdd

Sorry about that. I thought I had cleared all logs before I replicated it.

XBMC.log @ http://pastebin.ca/1461163
Crashreporter @ http://pastebin.ca/1461164

This time:
AppleTV 2.3.1
SVN R21054
Manual Install via http://www.sshcs.com/xbmc/?mode=BO
Skin: MediaStream 1.0

The change in skin resulted in failure after pressing down arrow on XMOTE 4 times (although is doesnt seem to matter what you press). Then XBMC hangs, debug info stops on screen and XBMC info banner stops scrolling. Ssh into Appletv still works, so the ATV OS is still responsive, however, takes manual reboot of ATV to be able to use the ATV directly with remote.

Personal inspection of fresh CrashReporter, still shows focus on XBMCHelper. It was deleted manually via rm -r CrashReporter just before I fired up XBMC for the test.

Let me know if you need anything else.
Thanks!

np, and sorry about beeing not clear enough.
The bundled XBMCHelper should be deleted on install of XBMC on your ATV. Launcher does this during install. The bundled XBMCHelper is only used on the Mac, not on the ATV.

just do
Code:
rm /mnt/Scratch/Users/frontrow/Applications/XBMC.app/Contents/Resources/XBMC/tools/osx/XBMCHelper
and the crashlog from XBMCHelper should not appear.

Thanks!!

Here they are again, with the same configuration and replication info as my last post:

xbmc.log @ http://pastebin.ca/1461163
CrashReporter @ http://pastebin.ca/1461164

On this run, XBMC exited with a status 10. Usually it just hangs.

Just to check my sanity (and configuration)

Has anyone experienced (or using and it works) this type of issue with XBMC Web Server based iPhone remotes? Either XMOTE or XBMC Remote?

Just a couple of responses would be good.

Thanks!

Hey Boseman,
sorry for the late response. I've reproduced this here and I'm looking into it...
