Visualizer stops working on streams

I started playing around with music playback in XBMC and it's quite nice! This evening, though, I decided to load up and play some internet radio stations but when I did, I noticed any screen that normally displays the visualizer would go black. Changing visualizers from Goom to something else has no effect, and even if I stop playing the stream and go back to a normal file the visualizer won't come back until I reboot.

Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

grrr... I just tried again with debug on and now everything's working fine. I need to investigate more, it's not as obvious as I thought that's triggering this.
