Hulu on TV with XBMC for Mac?
#1
Question
Hi everyone,
I'm kind of new to all this, so go easy on me Wink

OK, so I have an Intel iMac, Synology DS209j NAS Server (to be DLNA compliant very soon), Modem/Router and a Samsung LCD TV with ethernet connection (DLNA compliant).
I'm not sure how, or even if, XBMC Media Center is the solution for what I'm looking for, and also if the devices I mention before are relevant to achieve it, but here it goes.
With what I have, will XBMC Media Center be, in any way, the solution to stream Hulu from my computer to the TV? If so, how?

Thanks a lot for all your help.

Not for Hulu, as they obfuscate the video stream.

I'd investigate PlayOn if all you want to do is stream direct to your TV. It's a UPnP server that can serve up local files and internet streams to your TV.

XBMC is only of use if you wish to have a better front end than what your TV supplies - obviously you need a dedicated box connected to your TV for that (eg a mac mini, appletv (SD stuff only really) acer revo or similar).

Cheers,
Jonathan

PlayOn and TVersity UPnP Media Servers are currently the only way to get Hulu running in XBMC.

See:

and:
http://tversity.com

They act as a kind of proxy to redirect the video from Hulu to XBMC (over the network).
