Question  [AppleTV] Apple TV OS 2.4 analog video (composite to scart) output from the ATV? Post: #1
Hello,

For summer I would like to bring ATV+XBMC with me. Very likely I'll have neither composite nor hdmi... so I looked on how to connect composite to scart.
I found a nice explanation at: http://cr4nky.wordpress.com/2009/05/10/u...ite-video/
but I also found some issue with 2.4 as described at: http://forum.awkwardtv.org/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2643

Any good instruction to follow on ?

Additionally: how to tune the Finder to have an easy way to activate/deactivate the composite again ? (maybe through the sw-menu->4rd party plugins?)

Thx!

hello. No suggestion on this one ?
ATV via scart should be consider as one of the input/output option for XBMC like the higher screen resolution and the remote command support....

Thx!

The AppleTV has component and HDMI video outputs. NTSC/PAL composite is not an Apple supported video output option but there's a custom kext that can setup a composite output. See this thread -> http://forum.awkwardtv.org/viewtopic.php...743b98875c

Seems broke under AppleTV OS 2.4.

Seem to remember some sort of scart hack, search awkwardtv forums for it.

As XBMC is not in control of the video output flavor (component/HDMI/composite/scart), you need get the AppleTV OS to do it first, then XBMC will pickup the configuration and use it.

It works !!!

I'm still on 2.4 and I'm enjoying the coloured XBMC through scart.
(and I don't have to disconnect LAN cable at the boot up).

Thx!
