i have a htpc running xbmc, but i also have several xbox based xbmcs around the house.

just to see if it's possible, i have taken a 720p tv rip with ac3 audio, and re-encoded the video to xvid and a resolution suitable for xbox xbmc.

muxed into a single mkv i have a x264, and xvid, and the ac3 stream. using haali mkv splitter i can choose which video to play. this would mean one file usable on all the xbmcs in the house.

i was wondering if this is possible on xbmc? i realise it's not an essential feature, it's just a suggestion.

Wow, this is over a year old old - too bad it hasn't been implemented yet.

I would also like this feature for movies that have multiple endings encoded into one MKV file, so you could choose which version of the movie you want to watch and it would know which stream to play when the time came.
