[RELEASE] OpenSubtitles OSD (Script)
Hi. First off, I want to thank you Amet, for your excellent work on this -- I love it!

Alright so I have a quick question. Looking through this thread, have I understood it correctly that for subtitle search to work with rar'ed videos I need to either compile from SVN myself or wait for 10.5 to pop up, since the nightly builds are outdated?

There are but a handful of major reasons I use XBMC and two of those are playing rar'ed videos and quick-and-easy subtitle search, so I'm very anxious to marry the two of them together.

yes, that's about right.

I have stopped making improvements in OpenSubtitles_OSD as it would be depreciated as soon as the 10.05 is released and XBMC Subtitles will take over
You mean we will get native subtitle download support in XBMC??

hehe,no Smile

its an improved Subtitle script. source is here or http://mirrors.xbmc.org/addons/script.xbmc.subtitles/

note that you need the post addon merge XBMC for it to work.
Hi and thanks a lot for the script.
I installed the updated XBMC Subtitles script. When I try to use it via Confluence (and other skins) it works great until I choose a subtitle to use when the search is finished. When I select a subtitle, XBMC crashes (I get a runtime error popup).
The debug log is here: http://pastebin.com/cjGKS1is.
Is there something I do wrong or is it a bug in XBMC or the script?

/Cheers

Edit: XBMC only crashes if "Update Video library at startup" and "Auto adjust refresh rate" is enabled. It should not be a problem with the script.

Ok! I will have a look. Hopefully the addon merge has been done on the XBOX branch too Smile.

Amet, could you please clarify what post addon merge XBMC means exactly? I tried using XBMC Subtitles along with the latest SVN build from http://sshcs.com/xbmc/ but I suspect it's missing that very addon support you're speaking of.

anything > r28256 is post addon merge.

I am using XBMC Subtitles with r30177 and all is fine
Sorry about that, was an embarrassingly simple error on my part. It's working fine.

Thanks for the help.

Hi,

I ran into a bug today. When I search for subtitles the first time all is well for me as well. However, when I start the second video and start the XBMC Subtitles script, XBMC hangs and have to be manually shut down.
The log is here, can you please see what is wrong, http://pastebin.com/CaVWw9tt.

Thanks!

How do I get the new XBMC Subtitles to work in the GUI (Confluence) in the new builds? I have tried to go to Settings -> Skin -> Scripts but when I navigate to script.xbmcsubtitles there is no folder that activates the "OK" button. Can't choose any path.

add or edit guisettings.xml

it should have "<setting type="string" name="skin.confluence.subtitlescript_path">script.xbmc.subtitles</setting>" in it

Thanks. My intetions was to find out how it worked so that I could add the XBMC Subtitles to Aeon. And I figured out how.

Nice work with the new script! Big Grin

Now I just have to do some digging and find out how I can apply my Aeon Skin files to the subtitle script skin Smile

EDIT: If it still is possible? Maybe there is new instructions for this aswell?
