TrueHD

Hi,

Does XBMC support decoding of TrueHD? I can't seem to find a definate yes or no in the wiki/forums.

DTS-HD works as expected, in that it's pulling the standard DTS core and passing it to my av receiver, however with TrueHD i get no sound.

I know the FFMPEG codecs support the decoding of TrueHD to LPCM, was just wondering if it's been implemented into XBMC?

Thanks

Just had a thought... i've only tested from an MKV container, so i'm thinking that depending on what matroska splitter XBMC uses, the no audio from trueHD sources could be related to that (i.e Haali Media Splitter doesn't support TrueHD, however MPC-HC's splitter does).

I'm gonna test using a M2TS container and see what i get.

Anyone else come across this?

i've tried ironman and life on mars, both have truehd, the info panel says it is dd5.1 but reports a bitrate of 3-4mbps. It doesnt play brilliantly though.

The 9.04 milestone says that TrueHD is supported for decode. I don't personally have any of that media, so I can't test it.

Ok, so it appears TrueHD is kinda working from a M2TS container, however another problem rears it's ugly head! Keep getting a "Failed to initialize audio device" error message when XBMC audio is set to digital out.

This is being dicussed elsewhere in the forum... http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=50537

So if the TrueHD audio is in a MKV container, it's not seen. Does anyone know what matroska splitter XBMC uses? Like i said earlier, i know Haali Media Splitter can't see TrueHD audio, however MPC-HC's splitter can.

Cheers
