5.1 over SPDIF and stereo over HDMI
#1
Question
Hi!

I wanna know if is possible to have DTS/DD passtrough via SPDIF/IEC958 at same time as stereo over HDMI.

Here is my situation:
My motherboard is an ASUS P7H55-M. No NVIDIA here, using VAAPI.
I have an cheap 5.1 LG home theater connected to SPDIF out and HDMI to my stereo TV.

When playing an stereo audio file everything works fine: I can hear the sound over my TV speakers and over my HT.
If I try to play some DTS/DD, my HT plays fine, but, since my TV only supports stereo, I hear an strange noise from TV speakers.

Is there a way to downmix HDMI to stereo, so I can watch TV without waking up my wife and still able to watch a movie in surround over my HT from time to time?

PS 1: mute my TV while using SPDIF cannot be considered a solution!
PS 2: sorry if my english isnt too good, but it isnt my main tongue... I'm trying to comunicate ;D

Any help offered will be welcome. Thanks in advance!
