Well, maybe you should try and comprehend what that message is trying to tell you: a moderator had to aprove your posts. This is intended as a spam protection measure for forum members with very few posts - and not as a way to get me to work Smile

I am deleting your redundant posts to keep this clean here.

Always read the XBMC online-manual, FAQ and search the forum before posting.
Do not e-mail XBMC-Team members directly asking for support. Read/follow the forum rules.
For troubleshooting and bug reporting please make sure you read this first.

Hi there,

So this looks like a great help keeping my favorite skin (Hitched) up to date. I installed GIT as instructed and tried to download the skin. Alas I ran into an error. This is wat the script told me:

Code:
XBMC Skin Folder Not Found in /home/<my user name>/.xbmc/skin!

That's it. No error code or anything like that.

I assured the folder exists. I do have sufficient rights to write in this folder. It does contain the skins Aeon and Hitched (named hitched as a folder)

I do however see that in the asmupdate folder I have all the sub folders that come with the skin. I don't suppose I have to copy the files manuallyWink

Anyone any ideas?

TIA

Greetz,

J@n

then in cmd, it skips a few lines and that's it, nothing happens

trying this now.
installed xbmc babylon
extracted the script
edited the xbmc instal path
and ran it. seems to work.

however thread or readme does not say anything about updating xbmc installation. but guess that is needed to get these mods to work. maybe change that to both this thread and readme if it's needed.

A thousand apologies.. After the 20090814 update, all the packages got screwed up and the paths mixed up. Please get version 20090818. That should fix the path problems..

Sorry for the errors..

I believe all the skins (Showmix, Auriga, Hitched) all need a recent SVN copy of XBMC. Babylon will not work for them. You can use XBMCUpdater to update XBMC.

cheers,azido :;):

-=[ NOTE: The official Aeon Showmix Project is dead due to a hack of the website ]=-
But some cool guys keep coding stuff to it and made it dharma-compatible, see here:

patkhoo Wrote:For Mac users: (as reported by jeebus112)
1. Install Git for MacOS - http://code.google.com/p/git-osx-installer/
2. Get the Linux version of this script, and un-tar-gz it somewhere like /usr/local/asmupdate
3. Edit the asmupdate.sh, and on the line where it says "GITPATH=`pwd`/git-linux", change it to "GITPATH=/usr/local/git/"
4. Also in asmupdate.sh, probably you have to set your XBMCFOLDER to "XBMCFOLDER=/user name/library/application support/skin"

Thanks for the help here. Have two questions on the Mac version:

1) How can I access the "/usr/local/"? Is this possible without the finder?

2) After doing above changes, what could I do to run the script? I read the readme, but dont really understand what I need to do?

Cheers!!!
