Upgraded to build 22290, digital audio issues. Crash on seek, fast video, etc.
#1
I just updated my live install (used live cd to install to hard drive, then followed guide here: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=54350 to update to 21936....

well tonight i just ran the updater again to go to 22290, and everything went fine. However now when i start my system up, I go to play a movie, and it is like fast forwarding 4x or so, no audio. Error rate says 5000% droped frames go up to like 1000 in the first 30 seconds or so and continue to go up, and i can't figure out whats going on. It sometimes will say failed to initialize audio hardware, check your settings, but my output is set to PLUG:HDMI, which is what it was set to on 21936 when it worked. I tried changeing back to hdmi, but no luck.

In addition, playback speed is 60+ fps and I've tried searching. please provide clear instructions to do anything, as I am pretty new to linux and don't knw that much.

heres my XBMC.log file http://pastebin.com/m64774647

edit: it appears my tv shows are fine, and on further analysis, some movies play fine. I've narrowed it down to anything with DTS encoding has no audio, and plays 4x speed. If i put on something with regular DD encoding, it plays fine, and i get some audio, although it seems like it's only 2 channel heres a clip from updated log...if i can figure out how to take a screenshot i'll post that too.http://pastebin.com/m6c8b048b

Edit by Forum Moderator: Fix should exist after revision 22361.

Im on SVN 22290 from PPA and noticed that any material that is not 2 channel no longer has audio (dvd, iso, mkv). I dont see this 4x playing but all chapter / skip function immediately crashes xbmc. Just confirming that there might be something amiss with 22290.

If you go to setting/audio and select Downmix to Stereo(2 Channels), DTS/Dobly sources will work. Quick solution until this problem is sorted.

Unfortunately this has not worked at all, it still appears to skip so many frames that it appears to be running in fast forward Sad

I have also noticed that when playing music (MP3) this appears fine, until you try and play the next song, and then I will get "Failed to Initialize Audio"

Here is my log http://pastebin.com/m7944f27f

I hope someone can help. THANKS

Same problem with DTS after updating from SVN 22278.
AC3 audio is showing up as LPCM on my receiver (so it is decoded in stead of passed through).

Just chiming in.
Same problems since updating from 22118 to SVN 22290, any material that is not 2 channel no longer has audio (dvd, iso, mkv).
Live install on Asrock ION 330.

I would like set up my audio to do digitial as in the past it was only set up for analog. Something weird also just happen as now I cant get any sound from within the internal player of xbmc. I switch from analog and digitial and nothing. I have the external player function working and mpc-hc works fine for my 720p movies and I get dolby and dts working.

connected via spdif from pc to onkyo 606 receiver
I have ac3filter configured like the below

Here is also my debug log

Just updated to build 22295 and playing movies with DTS Audio, i get no sound.

Audio Hardware Settings are on Analog and Downmix Multichanel to Stereo

Reverted back to build 22252 and DTS Audio is working.

Debug Log : http://pastebin.ca/1538071

P.S. Dolby Digital 5.1 Downmix was working fine in 22295. Only DTS was broken.

Roll back your build to SVN:22252.

I updated to SVN:22295 and lost all digital sound (failed to initialise error message), rolled back to SVN:22287 and it was the same. SVN:22252 works though so it's between SVN:22252 and SVN:22287 that the problem occurred.

It's not a full debug log but it might help.
