[DOWNLOAD] pvr-testing Windows Build
#16
There was an include missing, I've added it and compiled with latest revision 26788. Download here. Works okayish here.
Running XBMC on my HTPC, tablet, phone and pinball machine.

plus one for that, I really want to try out the mediaportal one. If anyone knows where a build is uploaded for windows that would much appreciated. Spent ages trying to work out how to compile a build but have now given up!

i would love to see if someone could provide a pvr win32 build of the latest pvr branch, since it looks like robert-wm also started to add a tvheadend client which im using currently with my ion and tvheadend as backend, works flawless so far but isn't that pretty to use ...

highly appreciated, since i don't wanna mess with my nice linux setup, easier to test on a windows machine for me...

Hans, I've just added a Windows setup package of pvr-testing2 r27611 (+local changes, MediaPortal PVR addon and the TV-Server extension) to my website.

What PVR clients are being built?

I've had several friends try MediaPortal and say setup is a PITA and most people seem to like Sage & BeyondTV. Yes they cost $ but they are by-far the best and best supported from what I can tell and have been told by many.
I'm not an expert but I play one at work.

The pvr-testing2 branch contains currently PVR clients for VDR (Linux PVR server), TVHeadend (Linux PVR server) and Mediaportal (Windows PVR server). The Windows setup from my previous post contains only the VDR and Mediaportal clients.
I don't know if someone is working on Sage, BeyondTV or other PVR clients for Windows based PVR servers.

Hi Margo,

I tested now a lot of your recent builds but with VDR non seems to work. For the pvr-vdr.vnsi the .pvr seems to be missing and the pvr.vdr.streamdev is making XBMC stopping when you active TV...

I know you are not testing VDR but may be you know a solution?

@all
Anyone knows another up-to-date XBMC with PVR for Windows? On Linux its runnung very well...

Best Regards

I would be also glad for a solution.
After enabling the streamdev vdr plugin and setting TV active XBMC just crashs.

Thats also the case with the older dharma builds from http://www.scintilla.utwente.nl/~marcelg...build.html.

The wierd is that I cannot identify any error in the xmbc.log.

Anyone has any idea? I realy would love to use my vdr via XBMC...

Probably a dumb question: But is there any sort of Windows Media Center PVR clients available?
Since almost all flavors of Windows 7 include Media Center, I'd assume that it's not as hated as it once was. The PVR functionality of Win MC is it's best part. I'm getting pissed with my ISO's of TV shows and Movies with MC, so I keep going back to XBMC, but miss the TV, so go back to MC - you see the pattern.

I also have a Hauppauge HD-PVR for Dish (works ok with MC), 2 USB tuners, and one HD Homerun for Over the Air.

XBMC would rule them all if it had the TV functionality. Yeah, I know XBMC (and Boxee too) are not about Live TV - it's about being unplugged from the cable...yadda yadda...So that's why I'm wondering - can't Win MC do all the TV heavy lifting for XBMC nicely display?

Dude, that is a great idea. I am pretty much (90%) in the same boat as you are. Switching to MC for TV. Then back to XBMC for everything else. Rolleyes

Any dev out there who can help us out plz. Nod Wink

I suspect the biggest problem is that WMC stores records in a proprietary format that only MCE and Windows Media Player can play. So on top of having to write the plugin (with, as far as I know no documented API for MCE), you would also have to convert the recordings (and the live stream) to play in XBMC. And you could only do all that for unencrypted stuff.
