Hello all,
The problem I'm currently having is that XBMC crashes when it tries to change the resolution or refresh rate from whatever it's started up with.
My HTPC is connected directly via HDMI to a Samsung LNT4671F LCD HDTV.
I'm running a full Ubuntu 9.04 (x86) and XBMC 9.04.1 install, fully updated.
The hardware I'm running is a Zotac IONITX-A-U board w/ 4GB of RAM.
The NVIDIA ION driver release I'm using is 185.18.36 and I have added in option lines in xorg.conf to disable Dynamic TwinView as well as Allow Non 60Hz Modes
After I modified my xorg.conf file with those two modelines I gained access to 1920x1080 resolution at 60, 30, and 24Hz. Changing between these refresh rates using xrandr is flawless in Terminal but the TV verifies that the refresh rate remains at 60Hz under all settings.
XBMC starts up just fine and if it's set to the proper refresh rate for the content that I select to play I can start and stop the content anytime I desire. However, when I play something encoded at a different refresh rate, XBMC crashes.
Any ideas?

Missing at least a Full Debug log, at best a back trace with a core dump.

No problem, first time users are always welcome. Those few items that I mentioned, however, are some of the most important data we can have in evaluating what the issue is. Often with a Debug log the devs will reply quickly with some ideas. Since it's crashing the backtrace is next important.
There are instructions in the sticky on how to make the backtrace, and on newer versions (SVN) it should be generated automatically and saved to a "crash report" in the user's home directory. |

The log should be located in ~/.xbmc/temp

Anyone? I'm pretty bummed that I tossed out my Mac Mini/Boxee setup to build a 1080P capable XBMC rig only to have it not work in the slightest.
![]() Is this something that could be fixed by using one of the SVN builds? |
