Advice for HDTV Setup - Resolution Problems?

Hi all,

I am trying to connect my Panasonic PT-50DL54J 50" DLP HDTV up to my HP Pavillion dv9000 Laptop's (GeForce Go 7600 GPU) docking station via component cables and I am encountering some resolution issues.

Here's two screenshots I captured and some pictures to demonstrate the problem. The first is with Firefox maximized on the screen - this looks ok, but you'll see in the pictures that follow the screenshot that the top, bottom, left, and right of the screen are being cut off on the TV screen:

Here's what XBMC Looks like in a screenshot. You can see it overlaps into the primary monitor.

Any tips for how to get the TV to not crop the screen then fix my XBMC overlap issue? Given that firefox doesn't overlap in the screenshot when maximized, XBMC shouldn't, right?

Regarding my resolution and overscan(?) issues, I'll post links here as I find them while researching this problem myself:

Ok, I was able to use the NVidia software to fix the cropping of the screen. Now when I maximize Firefox, the edges of the browser are not cut off.

That being said, now I am only left with an XBMC issue. XBMC is trying to use more screen real estate than is available:

The left, top, and bottom are all cut off, and the right side of XBMC spills over into the primary monitor.

Would someone please tell me what is going on and if it is possible to fix?

Thanks!
