A couple days ago I started having audio issues in xbmc. DTS and DD streams will still work but when I try to play an xvid file with mp3 audio I get Failure to Initialize Audio Device. Any ideas? I think I included the relevant part of the debug log below:

The default audio device for alsa is typically named "default" and not "DEFAULT"

Also he means that you should post a FULL debug log, which means from the beginning.

Thanks maxim, that did it. I was using the Aeon skin and it automatically sets everything in CAPS (i cant even find a way to type in lowercase with that skin). I switched back to pm3 and it worked, then switched back to Aeon and it is still working there (but does show DEFAULT in caps again).

Next time I'll post the entire log, just didn't think anyone would actually want to read through all that.
