OSX freezes upon lost network share
#1
Mac Mini with GMA450, upgrade to intel T7200 2GHz
OSX 10.4
xbmc 9.04.1

I have the mac xbmc connecting to windows shares over my network. I have noticed that if the mac loses connectivity to the windows share (just unplug the network cable), OSX will freeze and I will need to power cycle the mac. This was first noticed when I rebooted the windows server and did not notice the kids were watching a movie on xbmc.

I looked in Trac but could not find anything.
If the debug log is needed, I will get one with a fresh lock and power cycle.

Not quite clear if you are a) mounting the windows share in OSX or b) using XBMC to access the windows share?

OSX 10.4.0 or some later versions?

Mjgraf this is exactly how 10.4 always treated lost volumes, if you left it for like five minutes it woudl eventually come up with '<your volume>is not available, disconnect' or something similar.

FWIW 10.5 did not have this issue. BUt I can tell you its no XBMC.

Thanks for the information garyi.
I did not realize this was an OSX issue.

I am using OSX 10.4.11 and using XBMC to create the mounts.
