Theater Backdrop for home screen (1080, 720, 4/3)

Here is a new LOW cpu version of my videos menu screen

Code:
<!-- The format is:    VIDEOS            -->
    <control type="multiimage">
        <posx>0</posx>
        <posy>0</posy>
        <width>1280</width>
        <height>720</height>
        <imagepath background="true">special://masterprofile/Thumbnails/ss2</imagepath>
        <aspectratio>keep</aspectratio>
        <timeperimage>500</timeperimage>
        <randomize>false</randomize>
        <fadetime>10</fadetime>
<!--         <include>backgroundanimation2</include>   -->
        <visible>[Container(5040).HasFocus(1) | Container(5041).HasFocus(1)] + !Player.HasVideo</visible>
    </control>

I went to settings and selected default for the home-video screen( my png has to be renamed to videos.png and placed in the XBMC/skin/Transparency!/images/backgrounds/ )
I also changed the delay to 500 and the fade to 10 and set randomize to false

What I did was I used my original code on the mac and set the menu to video. I then recorded the xbmc screen at 1 frame per second for one minute. Next step was opening the movie and adding the original png layer to block out the time, logo, date and rss. And finally I exported the movie to a jpg image sequence of 1 image per second. The result is a set of 60 jpg pictures presented sequentially with minimal load on the cpu. The folder is placed in XBMC/userdata/Thumbnails/ss2/

I just tested it on the AppleTV and it works great so it should also work on the xbox.

Moral of the story: if at first you don't succeed, try and try again

for those interested, the files are here: http://rapidshare.com/files/293858428/ss2.zip
and the initial background here: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2562/4015...38_o_d.png

got it. there's a small (case sensitive) bug in Black-Row, that's why it didn't work for me (on linux).
anyway, that countdown timer is only used on the home screen as a page transition when you navigate to the movies/music/pictures/etc.. section.
it's not there when you start a movie though.

That´s not right under windows...
if you start a movie there´s a coutain sliding and a countdown timing(sorry maybe i´ve drunk to much beer) i´ll try to send you a small movie tomorrow.
As you are from the netherlands I could also call you or talk in german or netherlands (i understad most of it but cannot really talk)

But this was just an idea.

Your skin´s simply the best i´ve ever seen and I thought this would be a nice feature...... sorry too much beer... ;-)

regards

Oliver

i'm unbiased and have no preferences, the backdrop that would work best with the skin will be included.

This also looks cool, a bit more colour and texture really brings out the transparent nature of the skin.

aww, yeah. didn't want to sound like an ass, hehe. i'm not anti-iphone (although i prefer android) but i just think xbmc has got absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with apple. so why the iphone? artistically it's done great (got to admire the photoshop skills!) but at the same time it's totally bland and unoriginal. iphone overkill everywhere... o.O
