XBMC as source for another computer?
#1
Is it possible to use one computer as a media source over a network for another computer?

Example:

Mac mini in living room and one in bedroom. Both running XBMC on both and sharing files over the network.

This way I can get the largest possible HD for two mini's without having external storage.

I hope that made sense.Oo

You can setup a samba share on your main pc with all the media. Then you can have xbmc browse the samba share from a different pc.
The normal XBMC log IS NOT a debug log, to enable debug logging you must toggle it on under XBMC Settings - System or in advancedsettings.xml. Use XBMC Debug Log Addon to retrieve it.

Yeah if they are both macs then just go into Sharing part of System Preferences and share your movie folders etc etc in File Sharing

Then on the other mac you should be able to see those shared folders....
