@ drone1 - hm you pretty much tried anything i would suggest in that case - just one thing - did you try just one newer buildor different compiles? maybe theres an error in all your compiles.
try asking a friend to compile it for you maybe - try deleting your databases (xbmc/albums/*.db - use the xbmc filemanager to delete them! and/or moving xbmc to another folder/partition@ jasondefaoite - try clicking the banner in my sig... ![]() Always read the XBMC online-manual, FAQ and search the forum before posting. choke, i tried a few different days builds (1/15, 1/20, 2/1, and 2/20, i think) compiled by two different people (-my mom- and a friend - i am lacking vs.net at the moment) to eliminate the "bad compile" option. the odd thing is that even after eliminating the tdata and udata directories, all of my settings seem retained (the logfile says it's going to set ip to some default in 192.168.0.., and then says it loaded settings "from dashboard" and sets it to what it's supposed to be) - except those related to the skin its self, like font, etc. this is extremely fortunate, although strange, in that there've been a few occasions when having it do otherwise would've resulted in me having to take the drive out - like when it would [i don't know how to control this] boot to the main screen, with no buttons! i'd have to ftp back in to do anything.
each version i install goes into its own directory, and i change the <home> path in the xml. i'm wondering what the big changes were to how the buttons worked between the 2005-01-02 build (last build from -my mom- that worked for me) and 2005-01-15 (first build that exhibited this behavior)? that might help in tracking down the problem. i have a feeling it's something kind of silly, like a small change in fonts, textures, or whatnot that might be incompatible with my xbox for whatever reason (i tried copying over fonts from a build of pm that works fine, and changing font tags, etc. in the xml's, but to no avail) !c |

hmmm no idea - imo all you different builds are corrupting the settings - i recommend just using one build as dash and deleting the others - the home screen didnt change at all since xmas - besides its running for everyone else - i highly recomend to tidy up and install a fressh build - also check the xboxmediacenter.xml if you're missing stuff...

hi chokey, i have a request for a pm1 skin modification, please look at this thread http://www.xboxmediaplayer.de/cgi-bin....45;st=0
you'll see that me and other translators are having troubles with the weather screen trying to find small words to adapt in the week days. jmarshall already did some mods in the code to fix it, and it work fine in english but not in other languages. i beleive we definitly need wider panels for the week days so we can use the right and more understandable words to translate all the weather strings. let me know what you think. p.s. i really like pm3 a lot, great job! as you see on the weather screenshot above, its pretty damn tight already - even thou im using the smallest fonts already - had a hard fitting the current stuff to the panel - no idea where extra stuff would go. - imho words should still be understandable in your mothertongue when slightly shortened. even in the german translation we have to shortenthings to fit it on the buttons - theres nothing bad about this...

just viewed the screenshots of pm3 through the xbox, looks amazing. i'm currently running pm1 but with a flat black background.png, this gives my the best clarity on the tv i've got. seeing what your creating with pm3 will be perfect for my setup.
can't wait......no seriously, any chance they'll be a beta release soon? for positive feedback of course. |
