so i have a url that I want to stream.

I made a .strm file and used a url: mms://xxx.xxx as the only entry in this .strm file

I then go to xbmc and try to run this file. I get a "buffering" message and it takes around 3-5 minutes for the video to start playing. I can run the same url in any external player and it starts streaming in 5-10 seconds.

I disabled all caching options in xbmc but still no luck

any ideas why this might be happening ? :S

I've noticed this in the iPlayer plugin.

I'm having the same problem with all my streaming plugins and with .strm files. Changing cache size doesnt work.
