xboxtv from xbox.com

i was browsing xbox.com the other day and noticed that their xbox tv thing at http://www.xbox.com/en-us/xboxtv was actually loaded from a xml feed. so i just had to have that feed in my xbmc, so i put together a little script that displays the videos very similiar to the aqtbrowser script. actually mine is heavily based on it, so much that it needs background3.png to stay pretty :d so get that from somewhere else

you can get the script here http://www.devious.dk:8080/files/xboxtv.py

comments are welcome. i dont expect to do much further work on it though, so feel free to modify it.

just tested this out and it works really well! great stuff!

only one comment though - it would be great if it remembered where you were in the main list if you entered a category so you dont have to keep scrolling up and down. other than that it works very well!

i might work on a custom backdrop for it later today if i get time and i'll upload it for everyone who's interested.

cool!

actually i couldn't keep my fingers off it, so i fixed it so it now remembers the position in the list. not sure if it's done in the best way possible, but at least it works Smile

i also added a couple progress screens, so xbmc doesn't appear to be hung.

get the updated version from the url in the first post.

if you try this script, have a look at the g4tv channel. it has some really cool documentary-type programs about various xbox games and events.

i like it alot also, but there are some strange stuff going on with certain streams within the script, not sure if this is something you can anything about at all just thought i should mention it.

for example there are two different trailers of dead or alive 3: ultimate, one of the streams plays perfectly but the other is jumpy and stuttering as hell. i'm not sure why since they come from the same source and all. there have been plenty of others behaving like that but the dead or alive is the only one i could think of right now. however you've done a great job and i'm very thankful, hopefully there is a solution but it's alright if there isn't.

cheers

i'll be the first to say that this is a very cool feature, being able to watch these streams... but lets face it 98% percent of them are complete novelty, one time links...

any thoughts of starting a link to more 'usable' entertainment strms? the live news and international streams a very cool, but there has got to be a more than that...

hi !
i am scripting a very good script (my forst one ! hope you'll be astonished !!Wink
so it will typically find streams on our database (http://xbmc-stream.gueux.net/) and show you the lists with filters. you'll be able to change the language as much as you want and to skin it as you like. you'll manage your favorite streams ... ...

our database is very young, all the streams we refering in the stream'pack are not filling the database...

have a look to our website, and i will come back soon to talk to you about my script Wink

my script' name : x-streampack
