Skinners should be able to do this already? You could take it a step further and have date weather and song information displayed full time during vis. look at MusicOSD.xml file in the skin of your choice. its in the 720p folder. This wouldn't work for standby mode however i would think a screen saver clock would be easy enough to write up.

Are xml overlays possible on screensavers?
Ideally an option to overlay a clock that occasionally moved over existing screensavers would make more sense than a whole new screensaver.

did anyone create a clock screensaver? I use Fliqlo - http://www.9031.com/downloads/screensavers.html - on my pc, would love to see something like that, maybe with weather info Smile

Why not just put it on fanart screensaver? It is much more classy.

Call me non boring, but fook me why the hell would anyone want a clock screensaver or indeed one showing the weather for?

I have movies, music groups and what not moving and shaking when it is on standbye.
I'm not a newbie. I always act this dumb.

I don't want to give you too much hope but I can say that yes I'm at least looking into it. However this would be for windows and closed source to add insult to injury Rolleyes. So someone else might want to go after a multiplatform and opensource version.

If I do manage to complete the screensaver then it would look like the screenshot below as it seems now.

no need to create a screensaver for that, possible by editing the MusicVisualisation.xml (you´d need the right font of course)

i have a different idea.

It wouldnt be that much work to create those "pictures", matching a 16:9 TV.
And it wouldn't be a problem, to make them shown in the correct time (with help from System.Time(startTime, endTime) )

but would it be possible, to make a screensaver out of this?

i started to work on it with a text-based (german) layout.
(because Elllipsis allready has a picture-based clock ... Cool )

this is how it looks like, when it's ALL ON:

i still have a lot of work to do.
all <visble>-tags corresponding to system.time have to be done.
