Sorry, one more question. When I update movie details by using a scraper I click on "Download the Selected Nfo". Then a small window appears with all details about the movie in question. I click on "Download this Nfo". What is happening after that? I understand that a new nfo file is created and is placed by XBNE into C:\Program Files\xbne\. Why is it not placed to the folder where all video files are stored? I end up with two copies of nfo files and XBMC does not use the nfo files created by XBNE. By the way I have a tick against "Backup also in the Nfo and associated images". I just decided to attach the error report so you might get to the root of the problem.

1. I have the log file ready. I don't know how to attach it. Can you please advise?
2. Also yesterday I configured mySQL server to address the issue of synchronization between two instances of XBMC. Do I need to put a tick in "use mySQL server" box? The server is installed at Linux computer, which does not have XBMC and XBNE installed. Thanks, Alex

The "use mySQL server" box is for new xbmc version (Dharma & svn) configured for use database whith MySQL server.
Synchronization in XBNE is only for tow or more instance of XBMC with standard database (SQLite)

Hello,
Yes for movie.nfo :
Load with XBMC MediaCenter, after database loaded, choice "Other" in MediaCenter, and Movie.nfo in Associated File Format.
Check "Save the first Thumb and Fanart".
In Options/Maintenance, click on "Backup All videos of The DataBase in a Nfo File by Video".

so it will just extract from the xbmc database? I cant do a database like with ember by adding folders and use xbne to scan it and then save all the info it scrapes as movie.nfo(not moviename). Just wondering because i wanna edit all my movies and shows before i add them to xbmc.

Yes, you can.
Just choice "Other" in MediaCenter, and Movie.nfo in Associated File Format.
After, go in "Multiple Research" and "Add Videos / Load Path"...

Hi Vincent,

Thanks for developing this nice database editor.
I think many people were waiting for this: we cannot exect the auto-scraping results being perfect. Xbne is the ideal patch.

There is one small thing though that is not working very well for me.
I'm still using Camelot, and updating happens via http.

Updating records works for some records fine, others not.
I have the impression this is due to the use of not filtering the gui edit fields that have to come into the xbmc database.

I'm using imdb as scraper, and the result is that for some of the movies in the Outline/TagLine field at the end an "Full summary»" appears. (or something similar)

This causes

• an error message, but only the first 2 attempts to update. After that a failing update/save but without an error message.
  
• no error message, but a failing update/save.
  
• other records fail also in updating.
  Reason: unknown, I cannot find any weird characters, but maybe it's hidden somewere I haven't noticed.
  

Is it possible to:

• put in your error message what field is failing?
  
• provide a idea / method / script to clean out all my database fields?

You can activate the Debug Mode in Option, all detail of http are writed in "debug.log" in xbne directory.
Nfo file are created in directory "c:\Program File\xbne\Nfo\" in http mode.

I found that there was a problem with the character "&" delete it if you found in a field.
