Is there a method to launch an external blu-ray player (I'm using eventghost for remote control) seemlessly and have it close out upon stop or movie end and revert back to XBMC?

First, in my opinion, there aren't any bloat-free software players for Blu-ray haha.

But getting to the point, you should really check the wiki for external player support, and search this forum for external player threads, there are a ton of them.
