I use EyeTV on Mac to record off-the-air HD programing (ATSC).
From what I gathered, it pretty much dumps the original broadcast MPEG-2 data in a file. The result is a MPEG Transport Stream. When I export that from EyeTV, I end up with a MPEG Program Stream file.
The problem with those files (both the PS and TS) is that XBMC can't seem to detect their correct length. For example, for a 10 seconds clips, when it starts playing, XBMC says the clip is 4 seconds. If I let it play further, that value will increase until it reaches the end.
If I open that file in MPEG Streamclip, and re-export it to MPEG (with no re-encoding), that fixes the problem.
Anything that could be fixed in XBMC that would prevent me from having to re-export all my recordings twice?
Thanks.
Original (broken) file (23MB): http://pub.abuserz.com/Test%20SRC%20-%20...PEGPS.mpeg
Fixed file (with MPEG Streamclip) (23MB): http://pub.abuserz.com/Test%20SRC%20-%20SC%20MPEG.mpeg
I can reproduce this in the latest stable (9.04) and latest SVN (23842), on Mac & AppleTV.
