Only Recognizes shows with .nfo file

Question
I’ve had Babylon running on my aTV 2.3 for a while now. I used the onboard scrapers from TheTVDB and IMDB for a while, but after my collection grew I became unsatisfied with the amount of time it took to scan for new content. To alleviate the problem I experimented with .nfo and .tbn files using Media Mate. It worked great, but for reasons to do with how I backup and share my media I decided against the system so I deleted the database, and all the .nfo and .tbn files. The problem is now the normal scrapers don’t work. XBMC will only recognize a show if there is a tvshow.nfo file in the main show folder. If I have that it will need each individual episode’s .nfo to display the episode. I tried deleting XBMC of my aTV, formatting to factory defaults, and reinstalling XBMC. I’m still having the same results. I’ve done some searching on the forums, but can’t really think of good key words to search with. Does anyone know the answer or where I can find it?
