Hi,
I have following problem with xbmc and thetvdb Scraper:
When I add a series , e.g. "My Name is Earl", and add them in english I get all the fanarts/banner/covers etc from the thetvdb.com site. But when I change it to a different language like german I dont get any fanarts etc.
I allready made a topic in the thetvdb forum (http://forums.thetvdb.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2091) getting following answer from the site admin:

"Kinda have to talk to the XBMC devs about this. The language tag on fanart is suppose to be ignored unless the seriesname tag is true. To be fair to XBMC it's not something we ever wrote in any documentation though. The only thing I could do on this end is make the language info null if the seriesname isn't true. We'll do that on the new site anyways since the language info really doesn't matter unless the seriesname is written on it. The problem is I have no idea what XBMC will do if we start returning blank language information, it might make them not see any fanarts as it's currently filtering by language, so you'll want to get XBMC devs to look into it first."

So can someone please fix it? Would be really cool cause its really annoying

I have the same issue.

I configure all my TV Shows to scrape infos from thetvdb in german ('de').
But for 'Friends' and 'Two and a half men' i can't get any fanarts.

But there are alot Fanarts for 'Friends' http://thetvdb.com/?tab=seriesfanart&id=79168
and 'Two and a half men' http://thetvdb.com/?tab=seriesfanart&id=72227.

I think the Problem is, the fanarts have a Language Field, which ist mostly 'English'.
When i configure the scraper to get thetvdb infos in 'de' (or any other language), i won't get fanarts/covers/... uploaded in 'en'.

For Example 'Fringe' Fanarts (http://thetvdb.com/?tab=seriesfanart&id=82066). There are a few with Language: 'Deutsch' (german). For example second row, the one in the middle (and some more below).
Users that configured the scraper to get infos in 'en' will never get this fanart.

I think Fanarts are 95% language-independent. Only Season covers are avalible in different lauguages.

So what can we do? Is there a option that i oversight, which ignores the language-Files for covers/fanarts?
i dont want to change the language of my scraper.

Or is a software change needed?

i'm running XBMC 9.11 Beta1.

Language override for banners (in scraper settings) should take care of this issue afaik. Please report back if its working for you.

Yeah, xmbc now offers me fanarts and season covers for my tv show.

But before i can choose all fanarts now, i have to update all episode infos (which take a while on some shows).

But thanks for your advice.

No need to update all episodes. On refresh if asked just select NOT to refresh them.
