[AppleTV] Launcher 3.2 testing
#76
Otterkop Wrote:System: Apple TV 3.01
Installed: Launcher 3.2 according to documentation; finder restarted; got launcher menu
Downloaded both XBMC 9.04 and 9.11 (because got error message after starting XBMC: "an error has occurred, please click play/pause button to restart Apple TV)

Question: my ATV reacts as if XBMC is not downloaded / installed at all. Did anyone experience the same? Hope to get a solution....

Anyway: thanks to the development team!!! I am a very satisfied user of XBMC on ATV. It really rocks!!
I'm having the same problem. I get an error when I launch XBMC. It says to click play/pause to restart ATV Sad

Dear Customer,
If you've installed the Apple TV 3.0 software update, you should immediately update to version 3.0.1. This prevents content from temporarily disappearing until it is resynced.

Has anyone tested to see if the update will require to repatchstick?

I didn't have a chance to test the Patchstick with 3.0. My ATV immediately updated itself to 3.0.1. I was able to repatch after that and install Launcher 3.2b2 and install the latest XBMC & Boxee.

However, when I try to launch either of them, I get an error and have to click Play/Pause to restart Sad

I'm also getting the same error. Click Play/Pause to restart. Any idea how to fix it?

My install is working fine. I downloaded Boxee before XBMC not sure if this makes any difference.

We wait for the dev-team to sober up from the weekend and hook us all up.

For the future I suggest disabling auto updates.

Disabling auto updates is the very first thing I do Smile

Yeah! I know. But in this case, the ATV 3.0.1 update happened before I could patch and disable the update for 3.0

hi there, forum neewbie here (although technically savvy)

Have reviewed the instructions in a much earlier post and decided that I'm going to leave this until a full pukka version is released that requires a little less user savvy.

Where's the best place / link to get an update when this will be available?

Before 3.0.1 on Friday, I had tried this:

- did a factory restore
- upgraded to 3.0
-- installed Patchstick to get ssh
-- ssh, and grabbed and ran Launcher-3-2.1-debug.run with no errors
-- restarted ATV. No launcher menu

Note: I used ATV patchstick and unchecked the "XBMC option" on, presuming that Launcher above the menu would let me install it.

But the Launcher menu doesn't show up.

Any thoughts?

- Re-upgraded to 3.0.1
- Patched with the 2.4 stick version.
- Installed the launcher (beta 2)
- Got the error messages.

The atv error message reported also by anamika, mrjekill, Bazilatfx, larryim:
"Click play/pause to restart".
