XBMC Suddenly became unstable after System Updates (Fedora 11)
#1
I've been running XBMC on my Fedora 11 HTPC for awhile now and on Friday I did a system update and installed the latest NVidia release 190.42 driver. After that my XBMC has become almost useless, crashes randomly and won't play most video content.

I've done some playing around with settings and even reverted back to the older driver 190.40 but that doesn't seem to have helped. I did find that if I disabled the VDPAU up-scaling that I can play 720p content without a crash, but if I play and 480i content then the system crashes.

My system info is as follows: uname -a
Linux 2.6.30.9-90.fc11.x86_64 #1 SMP Sat Oct 17 11:25:35 EDT 2009 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

I'm running on SVN Rev. 24170 as of this morning to see if that made any difference. I reinstalled NVidia's 190.42 release driver. My video card is a 9600GT with 512mb RAM.

I've added my crash log with debugging enabled:
http://pastebin.com/m71dda4e4

I did three things in this run.

1. Played a 720p mkv x264 encoded with VDPAU upscaling off. Works.
2. Played the same file with VDPAU upscaling on (set at 9) this time it seems to stall and all I see is the OSD popup, stopping playback seems to work fine, no crash.
3. Played an AVI 480i and XBMC crashes.

The SVN rev I was using when everything was stable was 23613 but that is now even worse than 24170 as the Aeon Hitched skin I was using would cause the system to crash randomly when running with 23613.

Any help would be appreciated and I can gladly collect any more data that would be of use in debugging this.
