[LIVE] Caching, external drives and flies...
#1
Hey folks,

today I was trying to play a 1080p x264 dts movie via 54g wifi. Obviously the wifi had some hiccups every now and again, so I searched the forums and found out I can increase the buffer size to prevent this.

As the cache settings have been removed from xbmc live (and others) I found out I have to change the parameter via advancedsettings.xml.

But WHERE is advancedsettings.xml file located on XBMC LIVE?

Ok, since I couldn't find it in the forums I moved my external HDD to the REVO with LIVE installed and attached the drive initially via e-sata, but nothing moved in xbmc. I then attached it via USB (it can be attached in both ways) and the drive showed up in terminal mode, saying "found this drive sdb blah blah" and it just hung there.

Pressed a key and was back to the terminal once again.

Happy of the result I exited the terminal mode, and went looking for the drive in XBMC.

I was quite frustrated in the end also because flies kept buzzing around my head... what a day... I hate flies!

Anyway, where can I find the attached USB drive in XBMC?

Other times i plug a USB pen drive and it just pops up, why does this not go for hdds too??
