Try removing the changes you made to advancedsettings.xml ...the external player issue was fixed for me in Alpha2

I created an advancedsettings.xml in C:\Program Files\XBMC\userdata using the code in Spuck's post but it didn't work. XBMC is still minimized upon exiting of the external player mpc-hc.exe. Can somebody explain how make XBMC resume maximized?
