Installed XBMC on AspireRevo but having buffering problems
#1
So I got an AspireRevo to replace my AppleTV as my primary XBMC box since I could play HD with the Revo but I just installed XBMC on it and I am disappointed.

I don't know whats wrong but when I try to access any of my SMB folders I have to wait a few seconds for it to load the folder and then when I try to play a video I have to wait ages for it to load. If its an HD file (720p) it plays the video for a few seconds and then buffers for a few more, plays the video for a few seconds and then buffers a few more.. repeat cycle.

My Revo is connected to my network via ethernet and my ATV is connected to the same network and has no problems. Could someone help me out...

thanks

Note I have System Bios Version: P01.A1 and 1GB of RAM. I follwed the guide here to install XBMC:

How are you accessing the network? Wifi or lan?

Debug log needed too when trying to play a file.

First off, that a really old version of xbmc you are running - where did you get it from? Try upgrading to latest version and see if you problem persists.

That it may do, but it is a really old version of xbmc included with it (May 25).

The standard live cd's include the nvidia drivers too.

Grap the latest version from: http://xbmc.org/download/

Just installed latest build, same problem, its always buffering. I used to have similar problems back when my AppleTV was connected to Wifi but i dont know why its happening with the revo since its connected by LAN.

WOW, got it working! What the hell, something was wrong with the ethernet cable i was using. I just swapped it for another one and everything is incredibly fast as it should be. can't believe it was because of my ethernet cable!
