[WINDOWS] subtitles (srt) not showing
#1
First of all, I really really like xbc, especially in combination with my Hero remote Smile

But now my problem, my movie subtitles or not showing. I use .SRT files. When I play the movie, I checked that subtitles are enabled, and I also see that subtitles are found. I even tried to browse to my srt file, and I could choose my file. But still I dont see any subtitles on my screen. This problem I got on PC1

On PC2 I do see subtitles, but not when I start my xbmc player on my second screen. with 'virtualmon' (sorry, I'm not sure about the name, I think it was virtualmon?).

I really hope anyone can help me. I really want subtitles Smile Because when I'm eating chips and stuff, I dont hear people talking Smile

Thanks in advance

Amet,

I have followed this thread to see if this is the same issue I am having with my subtitles not appearing. Unfortunately, the suggestions you have made here don't work for me.

I have looked through the xbmc.log and have found this:

13:19:17 T:2960060416 M:1406529536 NOTICE: Opening Subtitle stream: 4 source: 256
13:19:17 T:2960060416 M:1406521344 DEBUG: FactoryCodec - Overlay: FFmpeg Subtitle Decoder - Opening

13:19:17 T:2960060416 M:1406521344 DEBUG: FactoryCodec - Overlay: FFmpeg Subtitle Decoder - Failed
13:19:17 T:2960060416 M:1406521344 ERROR: OpenStream - Unable to init overlay codec
13:19:17 T:2960060416 M:1406521344 WARNING: OpenSubtitleStream - Unsupported stream 4. Stream disabled.
13:19:17 T:2957398016 M:1406636032 DEBUG: Thread 2957398016 terminating (autodelete)

The movie itself has a tx3g Stream within the m4v container -- but I have not been able to get that to show at all - Although it works flawlessly in Quicktime X - when the View - Subtitles is selected. I was hoping since Quicktime plays the subs fine, XBMC would too Sad

Since that did not work, I placed the SRT file along with the movie (named identical to the movie, just with .srt extension) and it still does not work.

These SRT files where created/exported with SubRip in Windows -- but my playback is on OS X. One other thing, I only export out the 'forced subtitles'.

Any help would be appreciated..
