A2 - Jerky Video and Sometimes Fails to detect correct Refresh Rate
#1
1. A2 + a fair number of DX builds
2. Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit
3. q6600
4. 2GB
5. Nvidia 7950gt AND Nvidia g210 - 190 drivers
6. Xonar DX And g210 hdmi audio controller
7. through an Onkyo 606 to an Optoma HD65
8. XBMC Revision Alpha 2 (Camelot)
9. I *think* it happens with all videos running on a custom resolution

11. See below

I have had this trouble on a fair few builds, and it may be that the devs are aware, but I wanted to voice my issues incase I'm not the only one.

I use a custom resolution of 1280 * 720 @ 48.00Hz, this works perfectly in the gl 23145 build. This is really smooth playback, with no dropped frames over the entire length of a film (so i am pretty sure that the refresh rate is steady, reclock also makes it perfect).

Using the alpha 2 of camelot, and playing a variety of files, sometimes the Hz is detected as low as 39 and as high as 49. When the refresh rate is detected at the proper 48Hz, the correct speedup is applied (resample audio), no dropped frames etc. BUT the motion is not smooth.

Put the refresh to 50Hz (i dont use auto refresh) and it plays perfectly.

I know that 48Hz works on the old builds, and I know that the new Alpha2 works at 50Hz, 60Hz and 24Hz (1080p).

It seems to be the combination of the new version and 48Hz. I see alot of "discontinuity errors", if these are in the file, why do they not affect the old builds?
