Hi

I recently installed ubuntu and xbmc, and it works like a charm. The only thing i wonder about is if i can setup my remote (MCE) to start up my pc? So i wont have to leave the couch to press the on buttonLaugh
I am a newbie to the linux world as a platform, so bare with me if this is a pretty simple question for you guys.
Hope someone out there contains the answear.

This has nothing to do with XBMC. The only way I have seen a way to do it is that there is a kit out there that you wire into your PSU. It will give your IR sensor a tiny bit of power so it can listen for a "power on" command. Otherwise if your machine is off, your IR sensor isnt listening.

My PC is a bit old for this, but perhaps check in your BIOS to see if there's a "wake on keypress" or similar. Presumably the MCE remote is USB? Unfortunately my PC only works with PS/2 keyboards for the wake-up function, but newer motherboards might handle USB as well.
