Changes between a1,a2,b1 within ubuntu system or xbmc only?
#1
Question
Last night i successfully updated my (installed to hdd) XBMC Live Alpha 2 build to a self-compiled svn build. This worked well.

Now i hear beta1 is coming out today. Are the changes limited to the xbmc release or is the underlying ubuntu system changed as well? Now if you guys managed to get the system to boot faster etc i will gladly reinstall the whole system, if not i'd rather just update xbmc via svn.

In other words: Can i keep my system and just update xbmc to beta1 (svn up, compile), or is it advised to reinstall the beta1 dvd to my hdd?

You can keep your system and update XBMC only (whatever the mean you use to do it -svn compile or PPA install). We don't change the underlying system.
Always read the XBMC online-manual, FAQ and search the forum before posting.
Do not e-mail XBMC-Team members directly asking for support. Read/follow the forum rules.
