What I really need/want for Confluence is a new decent free font that is unicode compatible and also has the majority of non english characters in it , is available in both upper and lower case versions. It doesn't really need Asian or Arabic characters though since they tend to use their own fonts

Obviously it needs to look nice and probably similar to the the current one a bold format to it and a normal skinny one

I really don't have the time to go looking for one and on the attempts I have made I failed completely Smile so it would be nice if you users spent some time scouring the web looking for me Smile

Obviously it needs to have a licence that it is free to distribute for non commercial work and I'd rather not have script / handwriting sorts

P.S please don't just load this thread up with every font you find take the time to really think if its a good replacement

Thanks in advanced for anything anyone does

But should it be different from current one or rather as similar as possible?

DejaVu http://dejavu-fonts.org/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page is very similar :-) and comes with support for
  • Latin (including European and African alphabets, IPA, ...)
  • Greek (including polytonic)
  • Cyrillic
  • Georgian
Released under free license.
My skins:

Amber
Quartz

As long as it looks professional and has caps and no caps and a more heavy set bold one that would work in the home menu. I'm happy to take anything into consideration
Obviously they don't have to be the same font for everything

unicode font is a must, good luck in finding something!

I always use Arial because of my language... It should be good if I can use your default fonts on my language Smile

The problem is Arial just isn't the caliber of font needed for a default xbmc skin..

Note that the font used for everything except titles in Confluence is DejaVu LGC Sans. Nice find - we wouldn't have known that otherwise Smile

Not sure what the title one is. Some of the alternate DejaVu ones are quite nice as well (the bold one for instance).

Given that this is on the topic of fonts, I have to live up to my constant nagging and encourage everyone to switch to the included DefaultNoCaps font set - much nicer on the eyes Smile

Cheers,
Jonathan

I think the fonts used in the Android mobile OS are quite nice. I believe they are unicode, and are Apache licensed.

+1 on this one ... Droid is really nice at all sizes and has some nice 'character' to it.

I really really like the look of the Droid font set.

How about the Liberation Fonts, if nobody likes Droid?

Liberation just looks like a bad Arial knock-off ... Very plain, no visual style to it.

Liberation is what pm3.hd uses
