Is "output to all speakers" gone for good?
#1
I'm running the new beta, and I noticed that the option formerly known as "output to all speakers" seems to have disappeared when the preferences were redone.

I use a toslink connection from my Asrock 330 to my receiver. Obviously when I watch tv shows or movies, I want XBMC to output DTS, or DD5.1 or whatever the video offers.

Historically, unless I had "output to all speakers" checked, XBMC would not output in DD, and my receiver would default to whatever mode I had set for this input (Dolby PL Music).

I'm not a huge fan of Dolby PL Music, and I'd prefer that XBMC output 5-channel stereo. Is this possible any more?

Hm, it definitely used to work for me, at least on my Xbox. I don't recall if it worked after I upgraded to my ION box.

Apparently this was an Xbox only thing.

I did find this thread, which suggests mapping L&R front channels to the rear in your .asoundrc, for the default, which I may just do.
