DTN's XBMC PSA#1: SOAF
#1
It has come to my attention that the term WAF or Wife Acceptance Factor has come into play greatly with the release of XBMC Camelot Beta. While this term conveys it's meaning effectively, the wife is more accepting of XBMC and the user of the term WAF's addiction to XBMC usage and development; it does not incorporate differences in gender, sexual preference, or marital status.

As of this time, the term WAF will be superseded by the more politically correct term SOAF or Significant Other Acceptance Factor.

The proper usage of this term is as follows: The SOAF of Camelot Beta is through the roof.

This change will allow for those whom have live-in girlfriends, are female users, or gay lovers to convey their acceptance factors in a unified manner.

Thank you

I was feeling left out because I couldn't include my live-in girlfriend with WAF.

Why not? It's not the words but the meaning thats important. It's just words. I have used it against my live-in girlfriend. It's like lol, you don't necessary laugh out loud.

Anyways, I don't mean you couldn't try to change it Smile I personally don't like the wording at all, I've never understod why the other half would be less inclined to understand an app than me, or rather, why it is important. The importance is that all understand it no matter the sex, origin, cultural background or computer experience. Messure an app on how well it works against kognitive behaviour psychology and human computer interaction stuff and it's sure to be accepted by the most people.

Hope you don't feel like I'm being negative towards you, because I'm not Smile

Cheers,
Tobias
